Week 7: WWII Presentations

For class, we shared our presentation of any topic during WWII involving letters that we were willing to share. I focused on love letters from the book “Love Abe: A Jewish GI’s World War II Letters Home” by Bonnie Klapper Goldenberg. I read majority of the book and read some of the letters that were presented throughout the book, and they were all enjoyable to read. The book was about how Bonnie was given multiple shopping bags from her mother Lillian. Surprisingly, they were filled with letters from her father Abraham (Abe) during his time in the army of WWII. All of the letters added up to over 835 letters. How crazy is that?

The feedback that I would give myself is to feel more organized and prepared based on time reference. I would’ve been better if I was given ten more seconds per slide to get more details shared. I enjoyed the concept of being timed without having to tap for the next slide, but I didn’t enjoy the amount of time we were given (we were given 20 seconds per slide). I found myself somewhat nervous after listening to others presentation due to how they all had better resources or details than I did. I only focused on the Jewish culture of marriage, letters from Bonnie’s parents during WWII, and their story because that’s what was fascinating to me.

With other’s presentation, I enjoyed them all because everyones presentation was different in format and aesthetic mostly. Listening and watching other’s present their topic of their choice in letters was interesting with how we consider to think about those moments on WWII. Overall, I think that we have improved with our learning ability to understand the meaning behind WWII with different topics on letters and come together to express our thoughts on letters we have read.
