Something I found interesting during my class was reading multiple letters from a student that attended to Muhlenberg College in the 1940s. Yes, majority of the letters were in cursive and needed to be treated delicately, but it was worth learning. What I mean is that you learn how productive students were back then and how sending letters have changed from the type of paper to the use of devices when writing letters. Back then, they had the options of using typewriters or handwrite letters. Now, we have the options of using computers and maybe handwrite them, if we enjoy writing on paper.

The main point of the activity was to understand not only the person through their writing, but how the world has changed with letter writing. It was a pleasure to read about somebody that you don’t know, but they had something in common which is attending to Muhlenberg College. I would love the opportunity to read letters again from different decades to learn what were the main factors of that time and what they think the future (present) holds. It was an experience with an activity that many people can’t say they’ve experienced. I couldn’t feel more thankful for the opportunity and trust when reading these letters with a partner that has their point-of-view to share with me.
