In class, I was afraid of the idea of listening to letters being read because of how uncomfortable I would feel. Turns out, I was right. I was very uncomfortable, but I enjoyed listening to the stories. I was uncomfortable because of how they would flirt back then, and I’m just too single to understand being in a relationship. While listening to the audio, it improved the letters because reading is different compared listening.
When reading, you read words without thinking about how the scene states could sound like. When listening, you focus on the emotions and speed of the speech. It proved the difference of how we can learn about someone based on listening than reading. Yes, reading is nice but there is something about listening that makes it feel like it should be heard. It was an experience that was interesting to me because of how I felt and understood the emotions when someone was reading the letters aloud of couple that were separated across the country.
